It is recommended to feed oily fish which contain a higher concentration of Omega 3 and the lowest levels of Mercury. If most of your pet’s diet comes from grain fed animals, the addition of oily fish is essential to ensure Omega 3 is included in the diet. However, if the majority of your pet’s diet comes from free range/grass fed animals then the meat you are providing is high in Omega 3 so feeding fish is not a necessity. Additionally you can supplement fish oil if sourcing raw oily fish is difficult.
Feeding Raw, Whole, Oily Fish
Fish is rich in Omega 3 which is essential to create a balanced diet.
It is important to feed 1oz raw oily fish per 35lbs body weight or 150mg Omega 3 oil per 10lbs body weight.
